I’ve noticed that lots of mixed media scrapbookers tend to use gesso to cover their page before adding paint or whatever. My issue with that is I usually really like the paper I’m using, so I’ve started using matte medium instead. Same purpose, but clear. So I grabbed some Amy Tangerine patterned paper and spread matte medium, then sprayed Dylusions ink through my Dylusions alpha stencil in a couple spots on my page.
With Scrap Around the World‘s moodboard this month, I got inspired by the writing, letters, and school atmosphere. I also had yet to scrap the photos from my little guy’s first day of pre-school (he’s now in 1st grade).
I used cameras and hearts for my visual triangles. That’s a Webster’s Pages cameo, a acrylic die-cut that I colored the heart green with paint markers, and a chipboard diamond from my Citrus Twist.
Washi tape from Citrus Twist kit, Pinkfresh stickers and stamp
UmWow Studio chipboard covered in gesso and orange paint marker and Heidi Swapp phrase stamp
UmWow Studio chipboard frame colored with paint markers, alphas from CT kit, Pinkfresh puffy and epoxy stickers, MME chipboard paper airplane (a classic symbol of school in my opinion), SC chipboard camera, thread from my stash
I stuck with grid and notebook designs in keeping with the school theme. Simply Stories journaling card, Leftover tag from SC kit (I cut the top off for a previous project), chipboard shape with goil foil word
Sodalicious (honeycomb with book text) and Little Yellow Bicycle (letters) patterned paper, paper clip from my stash, wooden phrase from CT kit, label from SC kit, Kelly Purkey label sticker, Pinkfresh sticker
Journal stickers, paint splatters
Amy Tangerine Stitched rub-on, cork alphas, Kelly Purkey label sticker, HS stamp
Chipboard heart painted green, chipboard alpha stickers from CT kit, retro alpha stickers from stash
Kal Barteski thickers, SC chipboard camera, Pinkfresh (?) wooden badge
I also want to enter this for Scrap Our Stash‘s challenge #30 – school supplies (Little Yellow Bicycle alpha patterned paper, paper clip, notebook and grid themed journal cards and chipboard paper airplane).
Happy scrapping!
