cue Alice in Wonderland “Painting the roses red, painting the roses red” 🙂 Love that movie and Alice in general. But I digress. It’s Scrap Around the World‘s birthday, and there is an awesome celebratory mood board.
I love the mix of textures, the multi-color blended typography, and who doesn’t love ice cream? 🙂
So the backstory for the layout. I finally decided to color my hair again (last time was about 15 years ago). After discussing it with a co-worker, I went for an ombre red. It would blend well with my natural color, be okay for an office setting, and while it’s growing out (which will be less time than if I’d done my whole head), it’ll still look good. I told my little guy what I was doing so he wouldn’t freak out when I came home with a different color hair. So what’s his first question when I walk in the door after coloring my hair? “Mommy, did you paint your hair red?” Too cute! And his second question? Even better. “Can I paint my hair red like yours?” We’ll see 🙂
I used my Dylusions sprays with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer’s Fragmented Flower stencil. I also added gesso and white paint through my Dina Wakley dots and Dylusions letter jumble stencils.
I also used Ronda Palazzari’s Christmas Tree stencil to make an ice cream cloud/banner of sorts. For even more texture, I used embossing folders on some patterned paper layers.
