…going a little post happy…

…since I’m off to a gaming convention this weekend where I’ll be helping hubby promote his book and possibly, show off a little of my wares as well.

So, I’m not sure how my scrapping will be going into the weekend and after coming back.  I have to pack a bunch of the stuff into our room, since little guy will have Grandma and Grandpa to himself and we don’t want him getting his little hands on things he shouldn’t 🙂

So here’s another LO I made using Scrap Friends Sketch #12

The background paper is from Kelly Panacci (not big into her stuff, but this really called to me, wonder why :P)

I went a little crazy with my collection of die-cuts.  I had a bunch that I’d been wanting to use, and this seemed a great way.

Supplies: DCWV Rock Star, We R Memory Keepers White Out, Kelly Panacci patterned paper; Transparency photo frame; Ribbons and fibers; K & Co. ephemera die-cuts; Little Yellow Bicycle Natural bird wood veneer; Tattered Angels spray mist in black and gold; Tim Holtz Paint Dabber in teal; 7Gypsies fabric tape and Bella Blvd. tape in Yellow Chevron and Pickle Juice; Fairy wood-mounted rubber stamp; Pins; Letter stickers; Tim Holtz Distress Marker Wild Honey; Hambly transparent border stickers

…chomping at the bit…

…because of the fabulosity (is that even a word?:D) of even more new Memory Works goodies for Spring 2013, and I’m in love…with paper, that is :P…

So first, this month’s Express Kit, absolutely phenom: Everyday Moments

And introducing…

Studio Calico

And why don’t I have any little snippets for these?  Well, it’s said that the catalogs speak for themselves.  And all of these collections (not to mention the rest), I feel really do speak for themselves.  Some collections I can take or leave (and you know me, I don’t like pink), but there’s minimal pink in these collections, and I absolutely LOVE them!  Seriously, I know it’s not my birthday or any big gift-giving holidays, but yeah, they’re that cool to me!

So if anything catches your eye, e-mail me!  If you’ve got a comment on something, comment already 🙂 Please let me know what you think!  And man, if only I could buy these…heh

Happy scrapping!

…eager to share…

…tons of  new goodies coming out from Memory Works.  Spring is coming around here, albeit slowly and shyly.  So I’m going to share what some companies have to give us for the upcoming season, and then some.

Sometimes there are collections that don’t immediately grab my attention, but I give them a second (or third :P) look and discover that I’m liking it more and more.  Fancy Pants has done that.  Bravo/a to Fancy Pants.

Basic Grey covers all the bases with vintage, retro, sweet girly and bright anytime colors and pattersn.

Now while I’ll admit to not knowing this name, I’m liking the new goodies for spring.  Take a look.

Carta Bella

I’m loving the Mama-Razzi line, personally!

These collections have spring colors all over, with some added tones to ground them in a wonderful way.

For those who love summertime, and for all your girly girls and cool boys, Echo Park’s got your ticket.

Tim Holtz Distress Products!  Can you tell I’m excited? 😛

And of course, for March a lovely hostess gift:

March 2013 Hostess Incentive

Needless to say, loads of paper and embelli goodies upon which to feast your eyes!  Does anything grab you?  Something you’re excited to see?  Or would like to see?

Happy scrapping!

…revisiting a previous topic…

…the question of redoing a layout that you might not like or certain situations have changed.

So I asked your opinion on redoing a layout.  I “improved” a layout I did for my younger sister’s graduation from college.  The original layout pictures are missing, but I remember what I did, and what I was trying to do.  Didn’t quite work.

So I saved two of the pictures (just got rid of one featuring her at-the-time-fiancee-now-ex-husband) and started almost from scratch.

Here’s the new and improved…and while you don’t know what the original look like, I’d still like your opinion on the new and improved lo…

A little background: my sister graduated from UCF.  Their school colors are black and gold and their mascot is the knight, as in UCF Knights.  I tried to stick to those colors as much as possible, adding in tan, white, or yellow when necessary.

Supplies include:

Once Upon a Time paper pack – knight paper

Pink Paislee Honey Bee patterned paper

K&Co. chipboard letters

Large chipboard letter: “R” in title

Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type letter stickers: “new”, “2007” “REASONS TO SMILE”

Bling: rhinestone swirl, yellow gem flower centers

Simple Stories Destinations: ticket and “GRAD” alpha stickers

Avery: journaling tag

Flower: various patterned papers and die-cut from a card I received

Buttons, black acrylic paint, dimensional adhesive, copper glitter glue

Tsukineko Gold pigment ink

7Gypsies fabric tape

So what do you think? Questions? Comments?

Happy scrapping!

cold, tired, and inspired…

cold because we got hit with snow, and while I’m not complaining (I’m from Buffalo and living in Florida for four years gave me a serious jonesing for winter snow), I don’t like being cold…

tired because the apple my son partially ate yesterday disagreed with him and decided to log it’s argument at 12:30 in the morning.  We had to change his pajamas and the bed sheet twice and clean his blankie, which he would not go back to sleep without, so after everything was said and done, we all got to sleep around 1:30/2 o’clock in the morning…

inspired because even though it’s February (and no me and hubby are just fine, I just don’t like pink, or diamonds, or all the jewelry commercials for said jewelry that have totally outrageously astronomical prices), I found a scrapbook challenge that I actually want to do!  It’s from another blog I follow by a wonderful photographer and artsy, wicked cool scrapbooker who’s a Design Team member for another blog.  Aaaaanyway…the color scheme chosen for this month has no pink!  and the red is more or a maroon/red-brown.  And so I’m going to do a layout featuring my husband and a very good friend of ours who has impacted our lives and who is like family, so Greg, that upcoming post will be for you!

For now, please enjoy some delightful goodies from memory Works.  I haven’t posted anything from them recently, and show you all some scrapbooking link love…

First off…The February Express Kit “Fanciful”

Next, for those who want to throw a party, a class, or just have a big group that would love to order stuff…MW Hostess Incentive for this month…

And finally, for those who aren’t fans of winter, a little spring sunshine from My Mind’s Eye…

my eye’s been caught by Notable and Remarkable…how bout you?

As always, thank you so much for coming to see me, feel free to comment, and happy scrapping!

my ScrapMuse is…back

back in the scraproom, after too much time off, due to circumstances beyond my control…in a word, Sandy…

Sooooooo, I discovered something from Tim Holtz called Grungeboard, which gave me the idea for the title of this layout.  Once again, my original sketch didn’t really make it to the page, mostly because I couldn’t find all the pictures, but I made do, and think this came out very well!

Here are a couple teaser images for you, did a fair amount of layering/shading stuff…really like how it turned out, despite the subject matter ;P

Tune in the next few days for the full page reveal…and head on over to the Memory Works and Simple Stories blogs for some great holiday creativity!

I want to thank everyone who “stayed” with me while I was gone for so long.  And while Superstorm Sandy is gone, the devastation she caused will take many months and many dollars to recover and rebuild.  Please help in any way you can.

Thank you and happy scrapping!

my ScrapMuse is…happy!

…happy for October, that is!  Besides that it’s my birthday coming up and (once again borrowing from the awesome author of Dominic Deegan, a very cool webcomic), I will be Level 33 (I’m also a big gaming chick, so I like going up in levels :P)

I also LOVE Halloween (think I might have mentioned it previously, but yeah, I seriously LOVE Halloween.  I have to limit myself to one decor purchase a year.  Otherwise I’d go broke! 😀

So you already know there’s an awesome October Express Kit from Memory Work that is, of course, Halloween themed!  It sticks with the blacks and oranges, which is great.  Also, this month is a new Hostess Incentive:

Now I’m sure you’ve noticed it’s themed for the upcoming Christmas holiday.  Well, once October is over (and even before for some of you), there’s other holidays.  So this is a nice way of getting a head start on all of that, and may I say these are some fabulous elements and papers.

So give me a shout and I’ll help the holiday cheer some early this year!

Happy scrapping!

my ScrapMuse is…tired and anxious

…tired because I just started a new day job that’s a longer commute, so I have to go to bed earlier (I’m really trying) in order to get up earlier in order to leave earlier in order to get to said job on time.  So, yeah, a little tired (and I’m not a morning person)

…anxious because I started a new layout that’s been in my head for a few years, and I’m anxious to see it come together!  On the plus side, I’ve managed to corral all my stickers into one binder, so they’re organized (I like being organized).

And to let you know, the Memory Works October express kit is awesome!!

Than again, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE (can you tell I love it :P) Halloween!  I’m decorating my place this weekend!  And these look like a great combination of vintage patterns for the holiday!

Also remember the new catalog has launched and the warehouse sale is still going on, and stuff is going fast!  Get it before it’s gone!

Happy Scrapping!
